Since TOYconomy was created by a parent, we had a lot of the same questions and hesitations about a toy rental service. Here's what we came up with! If you do not see an answer to your question, please submit a form on the Contact Us page.

 

How do I return the toys?

TOYconomy understands how busy our customer's lives are on a day-to-day basis, that's why we make returns easy! Simply package your products back up in the same box and packaging materials they were delivered in, leave it outside your front door on your scheduled pickup day, and FedEx will come directly to your house to pickup your package. Easy as 1-2-3!

Non-members will be given a scheduled pickup day after you place your order. All non-member orders are for 30 days, but we allow extra time for shipping.

TOYmembers need to request your pickup day when you are ready to return your products. Send an email to orders@toyconomy.com to request your pickup. Please visit Schedule My Pickup for more information.

Are the toy returns free?

Yes. The return shipping is included.

How do you ship? Do you ship outside the U.S.?

At this time, we only ship within the U.S. We currently use FedEx for all of our deliveries and returns.

Considering that the rental fees are for 30 days, when does the 30-day period start? The date of ordering the toys or the date of receiving them?

The rental period technically starts the day the order is placed. 

For non-members (rent as you go), we add extra days to the rental period to allow for shipping time so that your children can enjoy the toys for the full rental period. We will schedule a pickup day for you and will email a reminder one week prior to your pickup date.  

For TOYmembers, payment is stopped as soon as the pickup is requested. TOYmembers may request a pickup date up to a week from the day the request is sent. For example, if the next 30-day payment cycle is on the 15th of the month, send a request for pickup on the 13th and you can request your pickup day any day between the 15th and the 21st. 

If the toys are returned in the middle of the month would the monthly fee be prorated?

No, we do not prorate payments - full rental periods are always for a 30-day rental and are not billed as daily payments. (i.e. If toys are returned after 40 days is the rental fee calculated for 2 months or just 40 days? In this case the rental fee would be calculated for two months.)

Is it possible to request a new set of toys before returning the old set?

Absolutely!

What if I lose my return shipping label?

No problem! Just send an email to orders@toyconomy.com and we’ll email a shipping label to you directly from FedEx.

How clean can rental toys be?

We are proud to provide you with "hospital grade" clean toys? How do we do this? By using only the safest, most effective EPA-approved products and technology to disinfect the products before and after each use. Click here to read more about our sanitation process.

What if my child loses a piece or breaks a toy? I don't want to pay an arm and a leg to replace the toy.

TOYsurance is our solution! Choose this option for the products you want to cover and enjoy your play time, stress-free! You can select this option on the individual product pages before adding the product to your shopping cart.
If you do not select TOYsurance, and a piece is lost, there may be a $5.00 replacement fee. If you locate the piece within 10 business days and mail it back to us, there will be no additional charges. If a product is damaged or broken, a product replacement fee may be required which would be equal to 30% off the retail value of the product minus your rental fee.

What if a toy is broken when I receive it?

We test all toys during our cleaning and disinfecting process. However, sometimes products can be damaged during shipping. If you receive a toy that is broken or not working, please contact us within 48 hours of receiving the toy.  We will have a replacement sent to you asap.

I'm tired of toys and pieces being scattered all over my house!

TOYconomy can help you reduce the number of toys you have in your house at one time. We also provide tips to help you keep track of toys and pieces and engage your children in the process of cleaning up!

Why should I rent when I can buy cheap at a consigment or yard sale?

We have worked hard to create the most cost-effective and flexible solution for our customers. We understand that it is important to select the right product to match your child's current interest and developmental stage. TOYconomy provides you the ability to choose what you want, when you want it a fraction of the cost of retail! The best part is that you can send it back when you're done. No more tagging products, driving to a donation center, or finding a friend to take it.

How does the Wishlist work?

Wishlists are for personal use only to keep track of products you'd like to try or share with friends and families. To order products, you can add them to your cart directly from your wishlist or from the individual product page.

Can I purchase a toy that I'm renting?

Yes, you can purchase a toy that you are currently renting for a discount off of the retail value minus your rental fee.  Please send an email to orders@toyconomy.com with the name of the toy or product and we will send you instructions for how to purchase the product.

I received a gift certificate. How do I use it?

Unless otherwise stated, gift certificates may be used toward product rental fees only. If you would like to sign up as a TOYmember, please activate your TOYmembership first before using your gift certificate to place a rental order. If you are already a TOYmember, you can simply log in and start adding products to your cart.
To activate your gift certificate code, enter your unique code under Discount Codes/Gift Certificates on the shopping cart page and update your cart. You will see the credit applied to your total. You can check your gift certificate balance anytime by logging in to your account.

How do I cancel my TOYmembership?

TOYmembership can be cancelled 60 days after your start date. If you would like to cancel your membership, please email orders@toyconomy.com to request cancellation.
